About
The ELIAS Node Tübingen brings together a critical mass of researchers and entrepreneurs to actively engage in pioneering original ideas for thought leadership on value creation and how innovation can reliably contribute to a healthy planet, empowering institutions and individuals to rethink civilisation and economic innovation in sustainable ways.
Vision
The ELIAS Node Tübingen promotes value creation literacy in academia through interdisciplinary courses, an innovation track for PhD and MSc projects, and a community focused on open-source foundation model research in AI. It collaborates with other ELIAS nodes on societal projects, particularly integrating AI into education, and foster a European AI future that blends academic excellence with entrepreneurial vision across incubators and startup.
Activities
Entrepreneurship
- Collaboration with business schools as the ESMT Berlin to support young talent in their startup journey through AI mentoring programs.
- Connecting startups and entrepreneurs across ELIAS Nodes via the Cyber Valley Network and AI Incubator for knowledge sharing and joint ventures.
Education
- Development of an AI-focused educational platform for schools.
- Launching an MSc and PhD thesis program aimed at creating real-world societal or entrepreneurial impact.
- Hands-on courses that address pressing societal challenges (Rethinking the World’s Problems with AI, The Science of ML Benchmarks, Data Literacy, Machine Learning for Renewable Energy Systems).
Research
- Empowering students to translate their ideas from the lab into real-world applications, with a focus on rapid empirical feedback and problem-solving.
