The ELIAS Open Call invites SMEs, startups, and NGOs across eligible European countries to submit proposals for projects advancing sustainable and trustworthy AI. Selected projects can receive up to €60,000 funding for 6 months to develop innovative methods, software tools, benchmarks, or applied use cases with real-world impact. Applications must be submitted online by 31 May 2026, 23:59 CET.

The European Lighthouse of AI for Sustainability (ELIAS) is expanding its Virtual Centre of Excellence in Sustainable and Trustworthy AI. Leading European research institutions are invited to join this interdisciplinary network, gain access to cutting-edge research, and contribute to shaping Europe’s AI ecosystem.

Applications are open until 15 March 2026.

Spotlighting projects such as NeoBabel, OpenCLIP, and TabPFN, the event showcased Europe’s drive toward open, multilingual, and ethically responsible AI. The message was clear: with transparency, inclusion, and digital sovereignty in focus, Europe is helping lead the future of AI.
