ELIAS @ EurIPS 2025 — Workshop and Start-Up Village Participation
The ELIAS Project is excited to announce its participation at EurIPS 2025, Europe’s leading conference on machine learning and artificial intelligence. From 3–5 December, ELIAS and the ELIAS Alliance will have a dedicated booth at the Start-Up Village, where the team will present project activities, introduce the ELIAS Startup Opportunities Platform, and connect with researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry partners.
ELIAS will also support the organisation of the upcoming “Rethinking AI — Efficiency, Frugality, and Sustainability” workshop, on 6 December. This participation offers a valuable opportunity for the AI community to discover ELIAS’s efforts toward fostering responsible, sustainable, and impactful AI innovation across Europe.
Workshop: Rethinking AI — Efficiency, Frugality, and Sustainability
As Artificial Intelligence systems grow in complexity and scale, so do their environmental and societal impacts. This workshop addresses the urgent need to rethink AI through the lens of sustainability, with a particular focus on ecological and environmental considerations. Presentations and discussions will revolve around two key pillars:
1. Sustainability in AI — Reducing the ecological footprint of machine learning research and deployment.
2. AI for Sustainability — highlighting applications to global environmental challenges
With an emphasis on introspection of current practices, the workshop aims to foster responsible innovation, shared metrics, and the design of methods that are efficient, accessible, and viable within constrained resources.
This participation offers a valuable opportunity for the AI community to discover ELIAS’s ongoing efforts to promote responsible, sustainable, and impactful AI innovation across Europe.
